Buyer's guide
Best Google Maps lead generation tools: how to compare
Dated observations from 8 October 2026. No rankings, no affiliate links, no invented reviews.
Google Maps lead generation is a workflow, not a download. This guide compares six tools on contact data, verification evidence, suppression, refresh and export - the parts that decide whether a list is usable.
It is criteria-first and dated, and it states where Gmap Data is the more expensive choice.

Scraping is the easy part - lead generation is the workflow after it
A Google Maps scraper gives you businesses. Lead generation needs more: contact data with provenance, some judgement about whether a mailbox works, a way to exclude opt-outs, and an export your CRM can ingest without a cleanup project.
This guide compares tools on that workflow, not on row counts. It is criteria-first and dated; no rankings, review counts or performance scores are claimed.
The lead-generation criteria that matter
- Contact discovery: does the tool find emails published on business websites, and does it tell you where each address came from?
- Contact quality: role inbox versus personal address, domain match, and whether the tool scores or classifies what it finds.
- Verification and deliverability: can you see whether a mailbox was verified, is catch-all, risky or unknown - and does an undeliverable address get excluded from outreach?
- Suppression: when someone opts out or bounces, does the tool remember it and keep the address out of future exports?
- Refresh: can you re-run a market and only pick up businesses that are new to your list?
- Export contract: stable CSV columns and a CRM import path, or a direct integration.
- Review workflow: can a human review contacts, projects and data completeness before the list goes out?
- Responsibility: the tool provides data and evidence; outreach consent and applicable law remain yours to manage.

Where each kind of buyer should look
- Cheapest data per record: Outscraper and the Apify actor, with pay-per-use pricing and no subscription.
- Included email extraction at a low entry price: GMapsScraper.io, whose free tier and $19 entry include emails.
- Records plus an API and extension: G Maps Extractor.
- Country-scale search with structured area tiers: Scrap.io and Gmap Data (for Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam).
- Contact evidence and a review workspace: Gmap Data, at a materially higher unit price than the tools above.
Where Gmap Data is not the right choice
If you only need rows and addresses at the lowest cost, Gmap Data is the expensive option on observed pricing, and cheaper tools will serve you well.
It also does not send outreach, does not provide phone or email verification by the platform itself (verification runs through providers you connect), and does not offer a public API. A team that needs those surfaces should look at the API-first tools in the table.
A lead-generation test you can run in an afternoon
Choose one market
One category, one city, a realistic list size - the same for every tool.
Check contact coverage
How many businesses have a usable published email? How many have none at all?
Check contact evidence
Can you tell where each address came from and whether it was verified? What happens to catch-all domains?
Check the exit
Export the list and try importing it into your CRM. Column stability and suppression handling decide how much cleanup remains.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
What makes a lead-generation tool different from a scraper?
A scraper returns business rows. A lead-generation tool adds contact discovery with provenance, some verification or deliverability evidence, suppression handling, refresh behaviour and an export path into your CRM.
Does Gmap Data verify email addresses itself?
Verification runs through provider accounts you connect (bring-your-own-key). Gmap Data records the result as evidence per address, and a valid domain alone is never treated as a verified mailbox.
Which tool is cheapest for a large list?
On 8 October 2026 observed pricing, GMapsScraper.io's search-credit model was the cheapest route to 1,000 businesses (~$0.06 of Starter credits by their published examples), followed by G Maps Extractor at $0.95 per 1,000 records, Apify from $1.50 per 1,000 places plus a separate email actor and platform plan, Scrap.io at $3.50 per 1,000 export credits, and Outscraper at about $6 per 1,000 records with contacts. Gmap Data charges per saved business and is the more expensive option.
Do these tools handle opt-outs?
Gmap Data keeps a suppression list and excludes suppressed contacts from outreach-ready state. For other tools, check their documentation; suppression handling was not advertised on the pages observed.
Can I use the exported list for cold email?
That depends on your market and the rules that apply to you. The tools provide data and evidence; consent, opt-out and privacy obligations remain the sender's responsibility.
